Today we took the kidlets for a ride on Thomas, and it was all rather fabulous. You know your outing has been a success when your nineteen month old keeps shouting “Hellooo Thomas! Wooo woo!” and breaking out her funky dance moves whenever she heard the theme song for those shunters and grunters from Island of Sodor (A lot). And your normally reserved almost four year old actually talks to the face painting lady, excitedly requesting Spiderman and then proudly showing off to all and sundry her very distinctive visage for the rest of the day (and leaving bright red remnants wherever she went. Oops.)

There was a return steam train ride, a carousel, jumping castle, a mini train ride and sauasge sandwiches to be had. Kid- and parent- heaven.

All in all a lovely family day to mark the end of mr hissychick’s holidays, and the start of my own two week countdown to returning to work. Gulp.

Still let’s not think about that. I’d rather leave you with some lyrics from the Thomas theme song that I mentioned earlier:

Emily really knows her stuff
James is vain but lots of fun.

I’ll leave it up to you dear internets, to work out which one is most apt….
