Tagged but not bagged

By hissychick | September 4, 2009

Hello. Hi.

Yes I am still here inside the computer, have just been dealing with minor things like getting ready to move, trying to sell our current house, working, parenting, not sleeping and being 22.5 weeks pregnant.

Pathetic excuses really.

Anyway the lovely Ave has tagged me for a stuff and nonsense post, and seeing as that is all I am capable of right now here goes:

What is your current obsession? Maintaining the house in a reasonable state for potential buyers to inspect while keeping the kidlets happy (read: total nightmare), finding the next MCN alternative for miss A who shows no signs of staying dry at night just yet, working out the best pram for when number three arrives (and I already own a few-ahem).

What are you wearing today? Fat chick Maternity jeans and top.

What’s for dinner? My homemade lasagne was thoroughly enjoyed by all here at chez hissychick. THOROUGHLY ENJOYED you hear me?

What’s the last thing you bought? I can’t remember the last time I bought a non food related item. How sad is that?

What are you listening to right now? E singing to herself in bed as she refuses to go to sleep. The washing machine as it finishes up a load of nappies. Mr hissychick typing away on his computer. I have blocked out the freaking football on the TV.

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?
Other than uninterrupted sleepy bye bye land?  Paris.  Always dreamed of going there, unlikely to afford it until I have blue or pink hair and an artificial hip.

Which language do you want to learn?
I’d love to brush up on my French.  Six years of schooling and the best I can manage is to teach the girls Frere Jaqcues and how much is that doggy in the window…

What do you love most about where you currently live?
That we are moving….no it is lovely to be in an area of breathtaking natural beauty, small enough to feel a sense of community for the kids and free of the real estate based snobbery of Sydney (yet still close enough to commute for work there).

What is your favourite colour? Seeing as black is technically not a colour…blue.

What is your favorite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe?
Dumb question to ask a preggo chick!

Describe your personal style?
See above.

If you had $300 now, what would you spend it on?
I am going to assume that this would be to spend on me me me so I will say a pregnancy pamper at a day spa. In reality the money would be put towards a new car seat or a lay buy of presents for the upcoming Christmas at which I will be the pudding.

What are you going to do after this?
Hang out nappies, shower and go to bed. Wild times.

What are your favourite films?
These type of questions really stress me out because I never remember when put on the spot. OK a few that come to mind….Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the Trois Couleurs trilogy….also enjoyed Lars and the Real Girl, Little Miss Sunshine…there is no one genre.  However as husband and friends will attest I am a nightmare to watch films with as I simply can’t sit there and focus on the screen for that length of time so it has to be special.

Do you collect anything? I must as there seems to be an awful lot of crap to pack up for the big move of 2009.

What makes you follow a blog?
Good writing, a quirky sense of humour, a sense that there is an interesting person behind the text on the screen. Also helps if they are also in the parenting trenches alongside me.

Do you like to comment on blogs or just lurk?
By nature I am a lurker not a commenter…but I’ve made some wonderful friends inside the computer who have drawn me out of my hidey hole. Smooches to you all.

What’s one thing you dream of doing?
Sleeping for a minimum of eight hours straight every night for a year. Completing a PhD once I can figure out exactly what subject matter I could be passionate about and focused on for a three year plus period of my life.

What is your biggest regret?
In the infamous words of Edith Piath “Non, je ne regrette rien”.  Of course we all have regrets but this is a question best left to my exit interview.

What is your favourite thing to do on a rainy day?
Snuggles, reading, comfort food and cuppas, opening all the windows to enjoy the scent of eucalyptus when the rain has ceased.

Do you have a tattoo?
I leave that to mr hissychick

What are you favourite books?
Arrghh the pressure!  The Time Traveller’s Wife, Catcher in the Rye, Scepticism Inc..all books leave their mark and I do love my reading.  Something interesting I have noted is how many peoples have remarked on their love of Anne of Green Gables, you can include me in that little clique.

Describe your ideal holiday
One where I am not troubled by domestic drudgery, where sleep is a right and not a luxury, where the kids are relaxed and happy and where there is no time wasted commuting and the weather, food and location is amenable.  I am quite happy for the lotto gods to smile upon me so I can traipse around the planet in search of suitable locations over extended periods of time.

Anyway I think most of those who know of this little meme have already been tagged so I will just nag mr hissychick who has been even more tardy on the blog front than me……

  1. I’ve missed you.

I can’t watch movies either, my attention span doesn’t ever let me sit and watch for more than 15 minutes. Not even exaggerating.

Again, it’s nice to hear from you.
