What goes down must come back up.

By hissychick | August 17, 2008

Last night it was my turn for a spew.

Pity it happened to be when the water was off while mr hissychick was installing a new bathroom tap. I just made it to the backyard and left a voluminous deposit that our local wildlife left untouched and said husband had to cover with sand this morning.  Then again, those marriage vows do say in sickness and in health and all…

Thankfully I have not had a repeat puke since but feel like I’ve been hit by a truck, with aches and chills and a constant headache. After watching what happened to E I’m guessing tomorrow is going to be spent on the toilet. Nice.

Ahem.

Anyway I’m pleased to report that miss E is on the mend, hideous poo aside. She had an absolutely revolting day and night of no sleep, and the fact that my milk supply did a sudden massive drop due to my own illness only made matters worse. However today she seems to be back to her usual cheery self and is blissfully asleep as I type, undertaking  her second long nap of the day.  Fingers crossed that means that we get a good night too.

Now it’s back to the couch for me, while I wait for husband and daughter number one to return from their social outing with  mr hissychick’s work colleagues.  A certain threenager has more of a life than her mother!

  1. I think it’s always easier to handle ourselves than to handle another sick individual, child or child-like alike!

Good to hear that the kids are getting better. As I said, it’s now just the “easier part” of looking after only yourself.

    Get well soon!

  2. Poor you…

Throwing up every day is second nature to me now but I have great empathy for you… that gastro bug sounds nasty. Hope that it disappears very soon. Hope Mr Hissychick is a good nurse!

  4. Hope you’re feeling better soon. Sal’s feeling much better and actually got a better nights sleep last night, so the household was a much nicer place this morning :P

  5. Take care, Mommy. Glad to hear E is better and that you did have break while A and her Daddy went out.

Drink lots of fluids. Sleep well.
