Priceless
By hissychick | July 11, 2008
Early morning. A polite knock on the bedroom door.
A: Good morning Mummy can I come in?
Me: Sure darling, and good morning to you too.
A: (accepts and returns my kiss but then pushes straight past me to the object of her affection): Morning E. It’s breakfast time.
E (whole face lighting up): Did ay Daba! (G’day A!)
A (huge grin on her face): Mummy E is talking! And she said hello to me! (Reaches over the cot and kisses her sister). I love you E.
E: (Chuckling and patting A on the head) Yay!
It* is so worth it.
* And by ‘it’ I mean the never ending pile of washing, dishes and other general household mess I am yet to clean up this morning and which had rendered my mood rather foul until I observed this sitcom-esque interaction between the girls.
Topics: I'm a Mum, hi ho A is on the go, hi ho E is on the go |
They’re smart little things no? Just when you’ve started typing up the “for sale” notice they cleverly manipulate you back into your rightful place.

Posted by: Jenn on July 11th, 2008 at 4:46 amwrt the girls clothes - luckily The Elfling and Monkey have no bum at all and so the hipster style actually suits them. We have found the Bonds jeans (boys version) to have a longer fly and to actually stay up and some of the Pumpkin Patch stuff but admittedly most of the good stuff is 4+ years old. Quality seems to have deteriorated a lot.

For us, I am still not sure about how Caitlin feels for her little brother.
She would get up on the bed and greet him face to face a little too hard, almost head-butting him. If she didn’t feel any jealousy about him she would now, cos we always tell her off not to be too hard, too rough, too loud, be forgiving “cos he’s only a baby”…
She did cry when she found out he fell off the bed, but other than that.. I just hope he will start interacting more so that she will start finding him engaging. Otherwise she may start having the usual jealousy-related resentment for her little brother..

My boys are usually very loving in the morning and will do all the hugging and kissing greeting. Make it a really wonderful start of the day.
It’s the rest of the day that we have to police them 24-7. Hahaha…
