WWM 08
By hissychick | May 6, 2008
Many moons ago, I wrote about my inaugural WWM* award. Another baby, another year and so it is fitting that I reprise this rather dubious title.
And here’s my first self nomination. In the category of outstanding achievement in the field of patience I give you:
Yelling at my ten month old to SHUT THE FUCK UP when she awoke yet again last night, thereby resulting in more tears from her and waking up my sick husband, the threenager and the entire neighbourhood. Of course it would be another two hours before I could get both little treasures back to sleep.
I am still feeling both horribly guilty and rather deservedly sleep deprived this morning. So here’s what I’d like you to do: ‘fess up on one or two of your own less than perfect parenting moments.
Pretty please. Otherwise it’s sackcloth and ashes for the rest of the day, nay week, for me.
*For those who haven’t yet figured out this little acronym, WWM= World’s Worst Mother.

I’m here to confess. I’ve also shouted at a crying baby in the middle of the night and plonked baby onto the bed in a not too gentle manner, in frustration before.

Hey, we are only human and can only take up so much stress and bombardment of our personal time and space needed for sanity.
There was this time when Max was about 6 months old. I left him sleeping on the bed and went to sit at the computer. I had noticed he was about 2.5 feet from the bed, but thought he’d be ok. The next thing I knew, “CRASH” and a bawling baby alerted all the other adults in the house to come racing up. I felt so guilty that I took his sweet slumber for granted.

Posted by: Moomykin on May 6th, 2008 at 8:32 amThanks mumsgather and Kathie for sharing your stories. I will be posting my second self nomination shortly in the hope of bringing others out of the woodwork…
Posted by: hissychick on May 6th, 2008 at 11:15 pmWe all have our moments of frustration I got to say….I am guilty of scolding a hungry baby, a sleepy baby and also letting him fall down form the sofa and the bed!
So…it’s not that you are the WWM….you are just human.
From one human to another….
Ann’s last blog post..My son can’t seem to crawl
Posted by: Ann on May 7th, 2008 at 12:13 amAbout half an hour ago I was putting Samuel into his pram, at yet another attempt to get him to sleep.
He threw himself back, I didn’t have a decent grip on him, and was looking at the computer screen (I blame Ren’s blog for that) and he hit his head (HARD) on the side of the pram.
This, after yesterday toppling over and hitting his eye on his tallboy. Black, swollen eye.
Now both sides match.
WWM.
Melissa’s last blog post..I guess I should finish.
Posted by: Melissa on May 7th, 2008 at 2:30 amOh Mel. I’m sure Samuel will be fine. If it makes yuou feel any better you’re not the only one with a brusied little one at the moment (as you will see from my next post). I hope you are taking care of yourself, you have enough on your mind at the moment. Hugs from me.
Ann- you’re right, we are only human
