10 weeks 1 day Yay…we’ve reached double figures my little bellybean! The scan at 9 weeks 4 days was a beautiful thing, bubs was there in all three cm of glory, and even waved their little arms. The doc couldn’t find any reason for the spotting and it has not recurred…fingers crossed. So now I am off for my very first OB appointment tomorrow morning. It feels wierd to have “graduated” from the IVF clinic, but I am hoping that seeing the Ob will make it seem like I am a ‘proper pregnant lady’ just like my friend Lucy told me. I broke the news at the aunties/female cousins so that was held at our house yesterday..everyone was thrilled. Pity that DH didn’t get to share in the excitement as he was laid up in bed with some kind of horrific tummy bug/food poisoning. At least he is on the mend now, poor darling. I also told my grandparents this morning and they too are delighted. It’s funny, I feel a bit stressed telling people because I get scared that I might somehow jinx things, which rationally i know is ridiculous but there you go. Still planning on holding out telling work for a few more weeks, but it will depend on how obvious things get, ie how fat I get in the tummy region. I have had to start undoing the top button of some trousers, and i hate tights, but i think this is more to do with bloating than baby at this stage. I notice i puff up as the day wears on, and also if i haven’t been to the loo IYKWIM. I am looking forward to the bump, but not the chunky stage! Actually what I am most looking forward to is an end to this horrendous fatigue. I haven’t had the energy for absolutely anything other than the bare basics for weeks now, and the almost 4 hours a day I spend commuting are a shocker. I must also get a fitball because my lower back is giving me grief. But you know what? I can put up with these things as long as my little ‘bean is growing normally and strongly. Your Dad and I are so lucky to have you our precious little one :)
